Scholarship and Awards in Business, Accounting & Economics

The Department of Business, Accounting & Economics is committed to supporting and recognizing student excellence through a variety of scholarships and awards. Generously funded by donors and endowments, these opportunities provide financial assistance while encouraging academic achievement, leadership, and professional growth. Whether through merit-based awards, need-based scholarships, or funding for experiential learning such as internships and study abroad, these resources help our students gain valuable experiences that prepare them for success in their business careers. Sigma Beta Delta

This International Business Honor Society enables faculty to give B.A.E. students international recognition for their outstanding academic achievements. Sigma Beta Delta was established as an international organization in 1994 to provide an opportunity for faculty at institutions with regional accreditation, but not specialized accreditation in business, to confer on their business, management, and administration students international recognition for their outstanding academic achievements.

Sigma Beta Delta honor society also encourages and promotes aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind. Through June 30, 2017, Sigma Beta Delta has installed over 450 chapters in 48 states and internationally while inducting almost 100,000 members worldwide.

Student business majors who rank in the Top 20% of the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral classes at schools with chapters of Sigma Beta Delta are eligible for invitation to membership in the Society. The 9i果冻制作厂 Business, Accounting, and Economics Department congratulated the 12 students who have pursued excellence in their academic preparation for careers in business and have earned invitations to Sigma Beta Delta membership in 2019.

Charles R. & Louise Bennett Prize
Will award 3 annual prize awards for proficiency in the field of Business Administration among students majoring in the Department of Business Administration.

Wallace E Conard ’54 Memorial Endowed Award
Awarded to a part-time or full-time Business Administration major(s) concentrating in the Marketing and or Management, has proven academic success, and demonstrated a commitment for community leadership.

Mafi-Tabatabai Endowed Award
Awarded to a non-traditional junior or senior Business, Accounting or Economics major (s) who has proven academic excellence and whose tuition is not supplemented by an employer.

Donald & Elsa Giammarco ’76 VanZant Award
Awarded to Business Administration major(s) who excels in the concentration of Marketing.

Allen Prindle Student Fund for Business, Accounting and Economics
The Department of Business, Accounting, and Economics administers the permanent
endowment, once fully funded, and uses it to provide support to BAE students for study abroad experiences, internships, distinction projects, or professional networking opportunities. The BAE Department conducts an annual application process to select the recipient(s) of the award.

Majidzadeh Family Scholarship
To provide scholarship to a female minority student who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities as defined by a selection committee. Recipients must be a junior or a senior undergraduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and have demonstrated financial need.
